Ornamental Horticulture Assurance Scheme - OHAS
The OHAS Team (Ornamental Horticulture Assurance Scheme) will be at the National Plant Show, alongside many OHAS Certified Growers. OHAS is the HTA’s assurance scheme. OHAS Certified, Growers demonstrate they are working sustainably and with high standards of plant health. If you’re a Grower, the Team will be able to answer your questions about becoming OHAS Certified. If you’re a buyer, come and talk to us about how OHAS Certified growers and packhouses can provide you with the assurance and confidence in the products you are buying. For more information, check out the OHAS website at www.ohas.org.uk to find out the benefits.
EXHIBITORS - BE VIGILANT!
Exhibitors are being targeted by companies claiming to be, or work with, event organisers. They use existing event branding and may appear genuine. In the past this has included directories and hotel bookings but companies are now also claiming they can sell visitor data from events. This is not the case.
Be vigilant, read the small print, inform your exhibition, marketing and finance teams about the risk of scams and check with your organiser if you receive anything you are not expecting or are unsure of.
Organisations such as Event Fair, FairGuide.com/Construct Data Verlag, Expo Guide (Mexico) and International Fairs Directory (Portugal) are targeting exhibitors with their misleading directory services. Unsuspecting exhibitors who sign and return the form are then contracted into a three-year, non-retractable agreement, which could cost the exhibitor a significant amount of money.
