Tuesday 29 June at 11am - New Plants or Good Plants?
Andrew McIndoe, Managing Director of Hillier Nurseries, has many years of experience communicating with retail customers. Andrew argues that in our efforts to promote new plants we often neglect some of the best plants we have for out customers. These might be 'old favourites' to us but many are completely new to a new generation of gardeners. Come and hear Andrew share his insights and tips on increasing plant sales across the full range of stock and talking to your customers about plants.
Tuesday 29 June at 2.30pm - Operation Pollination
Passionate gardener, plantswoman and cook, Sarah Raven will chair a seminar about nectar and pollen rich plants, and will be joined by Dr Jeff Ollerton, a pollination ecologist from Northampton University, horticultural marketing consultant Doug Stewart, and Helen Bostock, a horticultural advisor from RHS Wisley. The seminar will explore the importance of nectar and pollen rich plants in attracting bees, butterflies and pther pollinators as well as the marketing opportunity that this presents for garden retailers. The BBC will be filming this seminar.
